What radiation level is considered safe

1 rem = 0,01 Sv = 10 mSv

Dose equivalent H

The equivalent dose in an irradiated tissue or organ resulting from the absorbed dose by multiplying by a weighting factor (w R) [1] for the particular type of radiation. This takes into account the different biological effects, we of the various types of radiation. H = w R

EFFECTIVE DOSE

The effective dose is obtained by summation of the weighted equivalent doses of each irradiated tissues and organs. The weighting factors (w T) [2] take into account the difference in radiation sensitivity of different organs in relation to the risk of cancer and genetic changes. An even-even exposure of the whole body or individual organs is at the same effective dose of the same radiation risk. E = S Tx w T H T
